Many people are surprisingly bad at kayaking, but with these few tips, you can paddle better than 90% of people. First, know the orientation of how your paddle should be with respect to your boat. Make sure the curved part of the paddles are facing towards you, so that they can push water more efficiently. Additionally, hold the paddle such that when you hold the paddle in the air, both of your arms are at right angles. Finally, when paddling, use long, deep strokes rather than quick and shallow ones. This will allow you to go much further with a single paddle while using roughly the same amount of energy.
